Scoff at Indian Street Food

According to Prachi Goswami’s Quora entry about India, she and her fellow compatriots are very into their “street food” and find tourists ignoring it the height of insulting.
She wrote, “Our street food is our specialty. You have missed a great opportunity if you come to India and don’t eat street food. Same items are found on the menus of high-class restaurants as well. But we still prefer the street grub. It tastes better and authentic. So if you order gol gappe (hollow balls of special flour filled with mashed potatoes, chutneys/sauces and a special liquid) at a fancy restaurant, you’re a non-local.”
